Euralis Semences possesses one of the most extensive research activities in Europe to which it allocates more than 12% of its annual turnover. In order to accelerate progress in breeding, Euralis Semences uses cutting-edge laboratory technology, in particular molecular marking. These technologies are relayed to the fields by classic breeding. In its aim to create varieties that are perfectly adapted to the market, Euralis Semences’ research programme is deployed on more than 250,000 plots throughout the whole of Europe. These are piloted from the 10 central breeding facilities. The programme is reinforced by numerous alliances throughout the world with, among other partners, distinguished European institutes as well as research entities in North and South America (U.S.A., Argentina, Chile). The principle axes of research are : 1) Maize : an ambitious maize research programme with the objective to be No. 1 in early genetics while playing an important role in late maize
2) Sunflower : Euralis Semences’ research programme is the No. 1 in Europe and one of the most important world-wide.
3) Rape-seed : research targeted on Europe with a strong innovative force, especially in hybrids.
4) Biotechnologies : by contributing to Biogemma, Euralis Semences participates in the largest French programme for the identification of the genomes of maize, rape-seed and sunflower.
